The GWU women have a new coach this year, Dawn Buth, formerly ranked 96 on the WTA Charts. Dawn played on the WTA Tour from 1998-2001 achieving a WTA singles world ranking of No. 96 in just three years and was a seven-time All-America selection and a key member of the University of Florida Gators' 1996 and `98 NCAA championship teams. Dawn has a fast paced game with the high level of consistency required for professional level competition. Also, Dawn has been a doubles champion on the WTA Tour. Her knowledge and skill as a doubles player will play a significant role in NCAA match play. Whle Dawn is an excellent professional player, she is also an excellent role model for her team. Born in Kansas, she brings to GWU the midwestern work ethic that is a halmark of the industrius American. In addition to her committment to build the GWU team, Dawn is a socially conscious individual eager to contribute to community service.
